Mary Louise Kiehnau was a longtime active and enthusiastic Altrusan, who had a passion for supporting women returning to college.  One evening after attending a board meeting, Mary unexpectedly passed away on her way home due to an aneurysm.  To honor Mary and her dedication to Altrusa, the “Altrusa International Foundation of Door County Inc. Scholarship in honor of Mary Louise Kiehnau” was created.   The scholarship is open to full or part-time women students who are returning to higher education with the intent of improving their career potential, after a gap in their high school education. Completed applications are accepted annually on or before July 1st and should be emailed to altrusadc.scholarship@gmail.com.  Applicants will be notified of acceptance or denial no later than mid-August.  Please send an email with any further questions.
