The Reading Friends Program is dedicated to fostering literacy and a love for reading among young students in Door County. Our passionate Altrusan volunteers visit 23 classrooms (4K and 5K) across four school districts, reaching over 500 children.

Each child receives their own copy of a book to take home and enjoy, while an additional copy is donated to the classroom or school library. Through this initiative, we aim to inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning in our community’s youngest members.
