Membership Meeting Minutes 

(Subject for approval at the next meeting.)

November 18, 2025, 6:00 p.m. Stone Harbor Resort

Peg Wepner, co-president, called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m.  

 

Guest Speaker:  Dominic Frandrup, Director Door County Library had a very informative presentation about the Door County Libraries. He was presented a check for $1,000 for Literacy for the Visual Impaired as is in our budget.

Thank you to our hostess:  Cheryl Zettel and Laura Voeks did a wonderful job with Thanksgiving themed activities and delicious sweet treats!

Welcome and Introduction of Guests – Judy Borawski introduced her guest, Susan Geils (2nd meeting)

Additions to Agenda:

Approval of October Membership Minutes – Lori Voeks made a motion to approve the minutes. Carol DeVault seconded. Motion approved to accept minutes as submitted.

Treasurer’s report:

Angie M. – Foundation – Report was emailed to the Club members with the meeting agenda.  Filed for audit.   Any questions, please email Angie. 

Diane G. – Club – Report was emailed out to the Club members before the meeting. The report will be filed for audit. Any questions, please email Diane.

Correspondence:

  • Peg exchanged emails with Christina Staring. 
  • Lori Anderson emailed an update. She contacted Southern Door High School about college rule notebooks and took 4 boxes of them to the school.

Committee Reports: 

    • Fundraising:   Patti E – 
      • Door County Candle Fundraiser:  AIFDC-EV1   November 1- December 16  – we get 25% of all candle sales.  Please encourage your family and friends to take part. Patti has handouts available for members to hand out.

  • Bingo – We raised $2007!

Unfinished Business: 

  • December Member Holiday Meeting/Celebration – Do we want a celebration in December or wait until January? There was discussion that people are busy in December. Pat Eggers made a motion to postpone the celebration until January. Rosemary seconded. Motion passed. Rosemary made a motion to have the celebration combined with the January club meeting. Carol D seconded. Motion approved. The meeting is at Leathem Smith.
  • Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication – It was a wonderful afternoon. Sue Enroth coordinated the supplies. Cheryl and Susan were able to attend and talk to those attending about Altrusa.
  • Cherry Cove Items – have been donated/claimed. More shelving is being ordered to keep items off the floor.

New Business 

  • Report from Foundation President, Sharon Haines – attached to agenda. There is still a need for a Treasurer for the Foundation. If a member does not step up, we will have to go outside the club members and pay someone to do the accounting tasks.
  • Holiday Extravaganza Updates – for donation drop off/setup/clean up times – Patti E – Dates for dropping off donations:  Saturday, Nov 29, 10-4, Sunday, Nov 30, 12-4, Monday, December 1, 12- 7. Tuesday, December 2 will be a work day from noon-7 for Silent Auction, Bag Raffle, Coupon bags, centerpieces, and Mystery Box. The room can be set up on Wednesday, December 3, from 4;00 – whenever we finish. If you are working at a station, please come and set up your table.  Continue to check your Operational Calendar for additional dates and times.
  • Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign: Peg sent out a schedule for help at the different locations.  We need help. This is a reminder that the Salvation Army makes a sizable donation for BTS.  Contact Nancy K-C where and when you can help.
